National Trust Photography Course at Ashridge Estate

One of the popular photography courses run at the National Trust's Ashridge Estate for DSLR photographers, held on 14 August 2009. The course was aimed at photographers looking to improve their photography skills, learn new techniques and get more from their cameras.
Photography at Ashridge Estate
This was the summer course in a series of photography days at Ashridge. Other courses focused on the spring bluebells and the autumn colours, making use of the changing seasons and the different photographic opportunities around the estate.
After some tuition at the base, we took a leisurely walk through the woodland estate, photographing the landscape and looking at different ways to approach outdoor photography.
The course gave photographers the opportunity to spend time using their cameras in a beautiful natural setting, experimenting with composition and developing their photography skills along the way.
A Day of Outdoor Photography
Ashridge is a particularly good location for outdoor photography, with woodland, open spaces, historic surroundings and changing seasonal colours. It provides plenty of opportunities to look at composition, light, viewpoint and lens choice.
The summer course was about getting photographers outside with their cameras and putting the techniques into practice rather than simply sitting in a classroom.
The other courses in the series made use of the changing seasons, including the spring bluebells and autumn colours, giving photographers a different experience each time they visited.

Ashridge Estate
The Ashridge Estate is near Berkhamsted in the Chilterns and is a great location for photography and walking. The combination of woodland, landscape and historic surroundings makes it an excellent place to spend a day with a camera.
