Beginners Photography Course
Ashridge House, Berkhamsted
Get off auto and make taking photographs on your camera easy. This is a one to one beginners session I run through MelenTraining, based at the beautiful grounds of Ashridge House, and it's all built around learning a few simple techniques to make you far more creative with your camera than "auto" ever will.
Photograph in black and white, and learn to use natural light and shadow simply to improve your photographs. These historic grounds provide so many places to shoot, with old flint and stone walls, sculptures, ornate gardens and long avenues, giving you beautiful backdrops to play with shapes and blurry backgrounds for more creative pictures. As with all my 1:1 sessions, it's tailored around what you actually want to get out of it, not a fixed script everyone follows regardless of ability.
With breaks to ask questions and talk about your photographs, you'll have the opportunity to practise your own images and elevate your photography — one to one, at your own pace, with plenty of time to actually get it right rather than being rushed along in a group. I've been running photography training since 2006, so whatever camera you're bringing along, and whatever level you're starting from, I've almost certainly taught someone in exactly that position before.
